In just a little over a week from now, the second in line to the British throne, Prince William will finally marry his long time girlfriend Kate Middleton and people all over the world is very much looking forward to the much anticipated royal wedding of the year. Everyone is going to be watching them and it looks like the world is taken in by storm with everything royal. Well, I could not blame them. Wouldn't you want to be a little bit royal at least once in your life? Oh, to be a prince and a princess for a day!

In the truest sense, the thing that makes royalty really royal is on how they actually act out the part. Good etiquette. As we all know by now, royalty is known for their unending protocols, good manners, and right conduct at every given situation. They just seem to know how to do things properly - sit, stand, handshake, wave, and smile. I think that it's very difficult to do unless you were born and raised in that kind of environment all your life, then it will just come in naturally without any effort on your part; a piece of cake.

Just because we are ordinary commoners doesn't means that we can't have some royal manners right? I mean, we can't possibly be of royal blood but at least we can learn some good etiquette especially in the digital era.

I have been reading some interesting article recently in Reader's Digest about having a good etiquette in the digital era. These are some of the questions that were posted in the article:

Is it appropriate to use emoticons and abbreviations in official e-mail?

Is it acceptable for the boss to send you a text message late at night?

What should you do when your boss wants to befriend you on Facebook?

Should employees be using their mobile phones during a meeting?

Should Facebook or Twitter be a place to (a) start an argument or (b) declare your love?

Can I update my Facebook page or Twitter feeds or reply to an SMS or e-mail, when I am out with my friends?

Now I'm going to leave these questions about having good etiquette in the digital era for you to think about and then we will discuss this further on my next post.
